Dr Sun Yat Sen Penang Base

Image
Dr Sun Yat Sen, regarded as the modern father of China today, actually had a house at Penang! I never knew about this history until I Google up the heritage places in Penang. I was kinda amazed that he actually came to Penang in 1910 and lived here for 6 months with his family. It was in Penang that he gathered the Penang Conference to plan the Canton Uprising in Guangzhou China. He also started the Kwang Wah Jit Poh , one of the world's oldest Chinese newspaper. Great isn't he? =) Proud! Located at 120 Armenian Street , a small green house. One will not be able to notice it if you didn't ask around and look properly. The moment we saw this banner, Kent was excited! I know he will be cos he's very interested with China's history. While I peek around with my little camera, he asked non-stop about the history of this place to the guide there. Haha! The main entrance. A portrait of Dr Sun Yat Sen. Random wall cabinet. Bedroom upstairs and the entran...

Georgetown Penang

Image
Day 4. So after our morning visit to Kau Keng Chu at Kek Chuan Road, we proceed to walk further, heading to the East where Georgetown is at. All the main attractions are there. We decided to travel by foot this time. Really explore Penang like a tourist. It was fun and the weather was pleasing. It wasn't too hot and neither was there rain. God bless us! We passed by the Art Museum of Penang. Didn't go in and I suppose it was closed too. I saw alot of this little police booth all over Penang. It's a good thing to ensure the security all over. Polices will be stationed there every night. But I don't really see them during the day though. Random wedding planner shop. Classic night pub called Shanghai Night. Hee~ Passed by a very antique clinic. And then we found the Heritage Centre . Learnt lots about Penang's history. They even showed you how each century's houses look like. From Chinese to Baba Nyonya and then mixture of other race too....

Penang Kau Keng Chu

Day 4 it is! The last day for us to venture around Penang before leaving the first flight out next morning. So I managed to squeeze all the last minute places to visit into one day. It's the most tiring day. But it's all worth it! =D Morning breakfast. Yummy Cottage at Jalan Macalister. Just normal noodle for breakfast. No photo taken cos I left my HTC at hotel and we had to go back to take it. Lucky it's just a street away. =X Presenting to you: Kau Keng Chu . Located at Kek Chuan Road off Jalan Macalister. It's a street away from Jalan Burma. It's somewhere near Menara UMNO. I don't know how to explain where it is. Just go Google map and search around =) The name Kau Keng Chu means 9 shophouses in a row in Hokkien. A very rich businessman bought the whole row of shophouses and painted each and every one a single color. From right to left: Pink , Amber , Turquoise ,  Grey , Ash , Cobalt blue ,  Lemon yellow , Lilac , Sky blue . From the ot...

Penang Awesome Food!

So after the tiring nap from Penang Hill's morning climb, we managed to get ourselves freshen up and head out around 4pm. We planned to buy some biskut tambun and then walk to Edmund's place. Hehe =)  Buildings along Jalan Burma. Random shoplots, Penang Plaza, Mini showroom and a huge billboard I found right in front of Penang Plaza. We didn't check out the plaza cos none of us are in the mood to shop. Just wanna explore. Hehe =) This is it! Ghee Hiang. The famous biskut tambun of Penang is available here. This one's located at Jalan Burma. Right opposite 7Eleven. When you see 7Eleven, you must stop and look to your right. It's at the end of the shoplot, a super small shop. We each bought about 3 boxes of biscuits. Hee~ Satisfied with our purchase, we proceeded to walk to Edmund's place. It's not that far but then it's not so near either. On our way there, I found a few row of houses with these mini gates. They're so cute!!! Then it m...
