Sarawak Regatta 2012

I shall forever remember my first experience at Sarawak Regatta as the day I ran under the rain for the longest route ever! Haha! Anyway, weeks ago Sarawak Regatta was on and I wanted to go cos I've never seen one. I know I know I know. I know it's an annual event and I'm a failed Kuchingite. That was why I wanted to go.

Around 10am plus, as I read Cyril's tweet, I know it's gonna be a fun day. We both went to Noodles Descendants aka Bishopgate for brunch before heading to Sarawak Regatta. It was also my first time at Bishopgate. A very famous place that the guys had been hanging out during weekends.

Had a bowl of noodle for myself.

This bowl of treasure is called Zheng. It comes with the noodle. This is the speciality of Noodles Descendants. People actually queue up for an hour just to eat these. Hmm......

After we're done with our brunch, we head down to Waterfront for the Sarawak Regatta event. Nope we weren't there to cover event but just two bored people wanna check out happenings around Kuching on a Sunday afternoon.

Boy it's been so long since I was at Waterfront!

At which I notice this new signboard. The colors attractive no? =)

Oh oh!!! I was so hype when I saw this huge bottle. Haha! They're everywhere! Just call me sakai or whatever but yes I can still be hype like little kids. Heee~

Our dearest Sarawak flag flying proud on the Sarawak Cruise!

There it is! The race begins! At that moment I seriously envy Cyril's camera. This is the max I can zoom and he was able to zoom 10 times more! Ugh!

Another shot. Wanted to have the whole DUN into the photo but can't cos my view was limited =.=

After the race finished, we walked around the place. Some kids were competing for breakdance here. Nice!

Aircon! Woohoo!!!! Finally an air conditioned place to chill for awhile. This is the science exhibition.

Lots of IT and science stuff were placed around. We wanted to surprise Kee Man who is supposed to be at the Unimas booth but failed cos he wasn't around =.=

And what's this? This is a mind game I managed to win! Won a simple badge but who cares about the prize when it's the puzzle that I actually managed to solve =P *proud*

Last photo before we ran all the way under the rain to our car back at Taman Kereta. Hahaha! This is where Tweet-Up Kuching 2012 is gonna be. Mark the date down on your calendar. 8th December 2012. Come to this venue and let's have fun together!!!

Princess's Birthday

HELLO NOVEMBER!!!

Quick review: Last month was awesome despite that I was being hospitalized =P I had a superb time with colleagues and crews and ST3P family. Things are getting good. Life is getting GREAT! I'm happily enjoying my everyday life now =) With all the loves around me, I know this year will end with a good chapter. Heee~

Anyway, here are some updates. Princess Jovell's birthday was actually back in July. I don't remember blogging anything about that. I did not join in her birthday celebrations but I got a gift.

Princess Jovell in her new dress. Hehe =) I love dressing up my girls in pretty dresses. Next time will pamper them with tons of hair accessories. Dear mommy Yin, please don't nag. Haha!

Aren't they adorable?

And here is for last month's celebration. It was just the next day after I discharged from hospital. We were all gathered at Yin's mom's house to celebrate her mom's birthday but because I missed Daphne's birthday, I brought her gift along.

Princess Daphne in her new red dress. She's growing up to be a beautiful isn't it? =)

A blur shot taken by Uncle Gab. No skill la bro. Hahaha!

The party went on with Uncle Welly distracting the girls with his phone's games. I think I need to start downloading games into my phone. Hmm......

A shot of all 3 of them. Can't wait to see them again! Love much!!!

The Bites @ Batik Boutique Hotel

Last weekend, I was given the privilege to dine at The Bites which is located at Batik Boutique Hotel. It's just right opposite Tun Jugah shopping mall in case you don't know. The place used to be Tarot Salmon Anyway, there's tons of photos ahead so keep scrolling and keep reading~

View from the main entrance. A small restaurant that opens for breakfast til supper.

There's a round table set for bigger gatherings. See that sliding door over there? It actually leads to a garden bar! Dang I love that bar! Gotta hang out there some time =P

Lemon soda with mint. Nope. Not my drink. Just for the sake of photo =P

My blackcurrant soda with lemon. Me love Ribena!

Pumpkin soup. Love how they decorate their food =)

And my beautiful mushroom soup with garlic bread =D They actually made this mushroom soup from scratch! It's not available elsewhere. The taste is just so different. You gotta give this a try!

Fresh vege salad. Yummy! Ever seen a salad with brinjal? You can definitely find it here!!!

Lamb burger set that comes with wedges. Not mine. Lamb isn't my favourite. Heee~ But this patty looks good =P~

Chicken burger with pineapple! First time encounter this. Wonder how it tastes like.

Now here is my favourite beef burger!!! They made all the patties by themselves. This is how special the place is. They actually made everything by themselves.

Lastly, I must present this to you. This is a treat from the management. It's called jelly mooncake infused with tuak and wolfberries. One piece cost RM5. Now this is a MUST-TRY when you visit the place. It's seriously awesome stuff!!! I wanted to buy back but that's all they had and we finished it =P I'm not a fan of tuak and this is only the second time I tasted it, all I can say is it got me wanting more! I shall go back and have some take-away =D

Later after the meal, the lady was kind enough to show us around the hotel room. It's my first time into the place. Looks good, feels good!

Just so you can get the feel too =P Beautiful architecture isn't it?

One of the room showed to us. Simple and made all of us wanted to just stay there for a night. Hee~

Beautiful bathroom! I love the glass panel and the head shower!

This is the bathroom of another room. A more special one with bathtub and 2 doors! There's actually another tempered glass sliding door that you can open and *ahem* enjoying watching movie while bathing =P~ Oh come on! We all know that's not the purpose of that door! Hahaha!

View from inside the bathroom. Ok I wanna bath now. Bye! =P

My judgment?

Food wise: It's special because they made everything on their own from scratch. I'll probably give the lamb burger a try next time.
Price wise: It's just the standard price. The portion is rather huge so it is worth your every cents! RM5 for a piece of jelly mooncake infused with tuak and wolfberries? I will DEFINITELY go back and buy!
Environment: Cozy and comfy. But am loving the garden bar more than the restaurant =P

In simple words, just give it a shot if you've never been there before. A place worth trying out!

Food & Book Heaven

The last day of my weekend escapade to KL, we woke up late that morning. Was extremely exhausted. Dennis brought me to SS15 for brunch at a Japanese restaurant named Haikara Style Cafe and Bakery. The environment is nice. A small restaurant cozy enough for warm breakfast =)

I tried out their special coffee. Not bad. Nicely brewed~

While Den had er.........green tea latte with ice cream. I think I still prefer my green tea the fresh way. Hee~

This is my beef rice with seaweed and salad. It's very nice!!! What to do. A huge fan of beef here. Hehehe =P

This is his grilled squid filled with rice. Something very special to me. Ok so maybe I was kinda surprised to see the huge squid. I didn't know squid actually looks like this.

This is the rice inside the squid. With the multi colored capsicum too.

After brunch, we went to Amcorp Mall because I've been wanting to visit a bookstore there called Book Xcess. The books there are super cheap! All of them are half the price of what you can get from Popular and MPH.

My mission was to hunt for Sidney Sheldon's books but I was very disappointed cos there's only one left. I already had the others available there. So in the end I was there to help Fabian buy his John Grisham's novels.

The largest receipt I've ever seen! Hehe =) Oh and because I spent more than RM100, I get to enjoy 3 years of free membership! Yeeehaaaaaaaaaaaaa! Dennis just collected my card the other day. Yay~ Can't wait to shop for more books this year end. I really hope they restock more of Sidney Sheldon's books.

After spending hours at the bookstore, we left. When I thought we're going for food, Dennis actually brought me to Empire Shopping Mall because he knows I've been wanting to play the Lex Slide! Sometimes things just link well between us =P

The AWESOME Lex Slide!!!!! RM10 per slide and off I went~ It looks pretty scary isn't it? But heck it was fun though it only lasted about 1-2 minutes. The money isn't the matter...............

Because what matters is I HAD FUN SLIDING DOWN!

After the slide, we went to hunt for food before sending me to airport. Had this nasi goreng kampung at a nice lil cafe. Ah forgot to take photo of the place. I love their concept. Keeping it the kampung style~

And then it's the heart breaking moment......I had to leave KL already. Leave the busy city. Leave the fantasy weekend. And most of all, leaving someone til God knows when. I'm really beginning to hate departure hall. The exact same feeling happened a year ago. Only this time, it was worst cos I had to part right at the gate.

A weekend filled with joy and laughter and love and patience and adventure. A weekend I'll cherish most! No this is not parting for us because best friends don't part even when they're oceans apart. We're just a phone call away =) Nonetheless, thank you for everything Biboo~

Til God bring us together again...........

A Different Experience at KL

Oh boy! The end of October is nearing and November is coming! Nooooooooooooo!!! But then again, I'm looking forward to December cos it's gonna be my favourite month of all. Hehe =) Christmas bells ringing~

Anyhoo~ 28th of September, I took the jet out and escaped from this reality that I've been living everyday. Off I went across the sea to mi amore~ Ok so it's not a love story but yeah it's just a great escapade!

Reached airport around 11am and waited for my driver for nearly 2 hours. Zzzzz..........First thing was of course to lunch! Dennis picked me up from LCCT and we went to Pavilion to meet Wui Pin. He's flying back that night and we kinda squeezed the schedule for him to meet with Dennis.

Hunger attack! I went straight to the food before even bother to text Wui Pin that we already reached Pavilion. Round and round and round. It was just my second time at Pavilion's food court.

Ended up with Taiwan beef noodle. Nothing special but the beef are tender and nice =)

Dennis had another type of beef noodle as well. With special stuff like tendons and sorts.

Later Wui Pin treat us to a nice set of yogurt at J.Co Donut. I didn't know they have yogurt too. Always thought there's only donuts. It was near to 4pm that we had to rush off cos work calls. So we rush and rush and rush and beat the traffic. I just tagged along in the car going all over KL and Selangor.

Finally by evening he managed to settle all his work and we headed over to the hotel.

Hotel de Art. Located at Shah Alam. I don't know which section. It's a really nice hotel. I love their art. Each and every room has different type of decorations. Ours look like Golden Egypt. Hahaha!

Surprise surprise! I love their bathroom! Not cos of the shower or facilities but the tiles they used. Chilli red!!! This just gave me the idea of having red tiles in my bathroom next time =P

Dinner time! We were so exhausted and starving. No this is not mine. I just forgot to take pic of my Hokkien mee cos I was starving like crazy already. After dinner it's time for both of us to rest. One exhausted due to jetlagged and another exhausted cos of the massive driving.

Next morning, work calls again. Sigh.........This time it's really horrible! Explain later.

Breakfast down at Hailam Kopitiam. Love the breakfast set! Although yeah I had to order more but still, I always love to have soft boiled eggs, sandwiches and a good cuppa coffee.

After breakfast, it's a long journey to Cyberjaya again. If I didn't remember wrongly, we reached there around 10.30am and I went opposite to Shaftsbury Square to get more coffee and of course, to waste my time there. Guess how much time I spent?

Oh Shaftsbury Square is rather empty. There's lots of cafe like Starbucks, O'Brien and other lil cafe, banks are available there and a few more grocery stores too. The place is still partly under construction so it's quite empty. Nothing much.

Since Starbucks only opens at 11am, I headed over to O'Briens for coffee and for the sake of free Wifi, I stayed there for hours! Only having my loyal phone and a good book with me. I was there for whole 4 hours!!! I sat until my butt was flat! But really, thank God I have my book with me and Wifi really helps, else I'll die of boredom!

We were due to meet with the author of the book Fuel, Jeremy Chin. I had Dennis arranged a meet up with him so that I can get him to autograph my book. And surely, my darling dear is such sweetie he got that busy man off his schedule for a dinner with us!

Dinner was set at Bangsar Village. A diner which I forgot the name =.=''' This is my lamb burger set. The patty is really round! It was just ok lor. No comment about it.

Dennis had beef burger set. Looks yummy thanks to the melting cheese. Ugh! Now I'm hungry again!

There. Jeremy Chin who wrote the great book called Fuel. Story of how a boy became a marathon runner and almost lost his own life at some point, found his love and in the end.............I shall not tell what the ending is. Hehe =) It's a really good book. Runners should get one. Somehow somewhere this book actually hit my mind and tell me that I should pick up running too =P Should I? Hee~

After dinner, we had no place to go and since Midvalley is just 5 minutes away, we both randomly went there for a movie. It was my first time entering a cineplex in KL. Also my first time stepping into Golden Screen Cinema. Not bad. The seats are much more comfy than MBO's. Oops! =P

Anyway, the day passed just like that. Seriously, that was my first time waited for someone for 4 hours!!! He really leveled up my patience limit. Hahaha! I shall continue about the last day in my next post. My eyes are closing soon. Good Lord I'm so exhausted! I think I'll just sleep early tonight. Zzzzzzzzzz..............Nights!
